Shot at Work – Waiting for Justice

Keo Nea, Nuth Sakhorn and Bun Chenda work together at Kaoway factory making sneakers for the German sporting goods company, Puma. On February 20th, 2012, the three women were shot by a powerful government official during a protest for higher wages. Here, the three women tell their story.

This video was chosen as a Finalist for the 2013 German Development Media Award Honoring Outstanding Reporting on Human Rights and Development.

    As a unionist at VW 40 years ago I had same experience with discriminating women workers. They said that women must work more. So we fought those bosses and I was sanctioned with closed shop since now 40 years. It tears my heart seeing those women workers suffering.
